By Car - Arran is closer than you think. The ferry at Ardrossan, on the Ayrshire Coast, is an easy drive from either Central Scotland or the South, via Carlisle.

By Train - A service operates from Glasgow Central Station direct to Ardrossan Harbour. The journey takes approximately one hour.

By Air - From Glasgow Airport, it's best to catch the ferry train from nearby Paisley. From Glasgow Prestwick International Airport, train or bus connections are available to Ardrossan.

Ferries - A roll-on-roll-off ferry operates between Ardrossan and Brodick, on Arran's East Coast. The journey takes 55 minutes. A smaller vessel links Claonaig, on the Kintyre peninsula, and Lochranza, on the north of the island. This service operates during the summer months only.

More Information - Brodick Tourist Information Centre is part of the Scotland wide network offering a local booking service. The centre is open all year and staff can provide information regarding air, ferry, bus or train timetables.
