PIER TEAROOM AND RESTAURANT
This is a lively self-service restaurant with patio eating outside and views across Lochranza bay overlooking the ferry terminal to Kintyre. There is a daytime blackboard menu with a wide range of daily changing bistro type dishes as well as a cake and baking display for teatime snacking. Soups are original and well made, also the chefs chicken liver pate, which was attractively served with hot toast and a well-dressed salad. Fresh West Coast Haddock was full of good fresh fishy flavours while a melon and strawberry sweet came cunningly sculpted in a tier of melon rings and ice cream, finishing with a strawberry. The menu changes for dinner when main course choices include Sirloin Steak with an Ale and Mushroom Sauce (£12.95); Succulent Breast of Chicken with a Lime, Honey and Garlic Sauce (£8.50); Fresh Scottish Salmon with a Tomato and Basil Sauce (£10.50). It is also the island's only internet café.
