Often
referred to as 'Scotland in Miniature', the Isle of Arran boasts a wide
range of natural produce. As far back as the 12th Century, the Isle of
Arran was recognised as a place rich in Scottish wild game, fresh fruit,
dairy produce, seafood and other traditional crops.
From
it's position on the West Coast of Scotland, the Arran Larder is stocked
with Scottish cooking ingredients which are fresh and natural - inspiring
your tastebuds whether you're into gourmet food, traditional cooking or
just straightforward natural fayre.
Scottish
Kings used to hunt wild game and today Venison, Pheasant and Grouse make
up many game recipes with livestock like cattle and Blackface sheep providing
Scottish Beef and Lamb for the table. Scottish seafood recipes include;
Smoked Fish like Salmon, Cod, Haddock, and shellfish such as Oysters.
Fresh fruit and vegetables include raspberries and strawberries and of
course, the famous Arran Potato.
