Scottish Seafood DishesSeafood dominates the menu in this informal bistro with adjoining smokehouse and fish shop. Originally a farm bothy, Tim and Fran James have converted it into the only fish processing unit on the island where, besides smoking fish, they also make fish soups, fish pates and fishcakes.

In the back shop there are boxes of wet fish, their fishy smell mingling with the smoky aroma from smoldering oak chips from the kiln. Whole fish are being filleted. The bones and heads dropped into a large pot to make an aromatic fish stock.

The blackboard menu reflects what's plentiful in the fisherman's catch. look out for langoustines, crabs, squat lobsters, oysters, mussels, as well as Creelers tasty fish cake. A large but elegant crispy browned round of fishy flavours in a moist mash served with seasonal leaves and citrus butter sauce (£8.95). Expect to pay around £10 for lunch and about £20 for dinner.

All fish is oak smoked without artificial dyes or additives. Look out for undyed Loch Fyne kippers.

Product Range: A variety of smoked and fresh fish including salmon, trout, turbot, hake, herring, kippers, cod, sole, haddock, plaice. Shellfish includes, lobster langoustine, oysters, mussels, crabs, razor shell, scallops. Smoked duck, chicken and venison. Salmon is also hot-smoked.
